Turn The Gears In Two Directions To Solve The Gimmick

The gimmick inside Final Trial can be solved by turning the gear in the center in either direction. For convenience this page is described clockwise and counterclockwise from the entrance.

The Color of The Gear Changes Depending On The Direction of Rotation

Clockwise (Blue) - Counterclockwise (Orange). The color of gears and other internal gimmicks changes according to the direction in which the gears are turned.

Guardian Appears Each Time The Terminal Is Activated

After each terminal is activated, Guardian will appear in the central area. As the Guardian gradually gets stronger, prepare Guardian-resist equipment where possible.

It Is Recommended To Prepare Ancient Arrows

When the second and third terminals are activated, a Guardian Turret and a Guardian Skywatcher will appear. Bring several Ancient Arrows to take down the Skywatcher with a single shot to the eye.

Final Trial Walkthrough Video

Reference videos can help with timing for moving platforms and ball puzzles. Use external video sources for full visual walkthroughs.

Final Trial Terminal 1 (Thunder Area)

  1. Insert the iron bar in front of the room to rotate the room.
  2. Enter the room and use the rotating foothold to get to the top of the room.
  3. Use Magnesis to drop the iron bar on the ceiling to the floor.
  4. Carry the iron bar to the joint on the floor and insert it.
  5. Pull the iron bar on the entrance side while the gear is clockwise (blue) so that it hooks onto the joined iron bar.
  6. Go to the door where the terminal is and activate it as the power passes through.

Insert The iron bar In Front Of The Room To Rotate The Room

Insert the iron bar near the entrance of the room into the open slot of the door to make the room rotate. First, turn the gear and fit the iron bar into it.

Move To The Top of The Room And Take The iron bar On The Ceiling

When the room is half rotating, stand on the turning foothold and move to the top. Use Magnesis to reach the iron bar on the ceiling and bring it to the floor.

Hook The iron bars To Rotate The Whole Room

Insert the iron bar from the ceiling into the joint on the floor side. Then pull out the iron bar on the other side with Magnesis until the bars hook together. Turn clockwise to connect power and open the door to the terminal.

Final Trial Terminal 2 (Fire Area)

  1. Change the direction to counterclockwise (orange).
  2. Use the small gear on the magma near the entrance as a foothold to move to the Fire Room.
  3. Change the direction to clockwise (blue) to cross the spiked foothold.
  4. Step on the switch and put the ball into the hole around the big gear in the back.
  5. Pass through the pipe inside while changing the direction of rotation.
  6. Carry the ball from the pipe into the nearby hole.
  7. The door opens; activate the terminal.

Counterclockwise (orange) > Clockwise (blue) > Counterclockwise (orange) when moving through the sequence.

Rotate Clockwise When Crossing The Foothold

Rotate clockwise when crossing the spiked foothold. If it is counterclockwise you may not be able to reach the other side.

Put The Ball Into The Pipe At The Right Time

Put the ball into the pipe in the back by pressing the switch when the pocket lines up. The ball will reappear if missed, so you can try again. After putting the ball in, change the direction so it passes through the pipe.

Final Trial Terminal 3 (Water Area)

  1. Go to the upper level via a large gear from the gear above the magma that connects to the Fire Room.
  2. Defeat the Guardian in the back and head to the left.
  3. While turning counterclockwise (orange), use Stasis to stop the stone on the door, pull up the foothold and go inside.
  4. Use Cryonis to push up the switch.
  5. Turn the gear clockwise (blue) and go to the back.
  6. Stop the large faucet with Stasis and hit it to turn clockwise.
  7. As the water recedes, go down and continue on.
  8. Take the iron ball that comes out when you step on the switch, move it on the platform and press the switch again.
  9. The faucet turns and water comes out. Create a foothold with Cryonis and activate the terminal.

Use Stasis To Raise The Foothold

Fix the stone while the gear is counterclockwise to raise a suspended scaffold. The fixed stone will not fall and will move a gear in the upper right corner. Enter before Stasis ends.

Push The Switch Up With Cryonis

Use Cryonis to push up the central switch so the device starts rotating. Turn it to clockwise and use the foothold to advance to the back.

Stop The Faucet With Stasis And Turn It Clockwise

Use Stasis to freeze the faucet and then strike it to turn it clockwise. This stops the water flow and allows you to proceed.

Move The Iron Ball On The Switch To Turn The Faucet

When you step on the switch an iron ball will appear under the platform. Move it with Magnesis onto the switch so when you step on it again the ball will fly to the faucet and change the water level.

Final Trial Terminal 4 (Wind Area)

  1. Take out the iron bar near the entrance of the Wind Room and fit it into the joint at the entrance.
  2. Pull out the iron bar on the rotating side and connect it to the fitted iron bar.
  3. While turning clockwise (blue), jump from the foothold on the ladder inside toward the entrance.
  4. After climbing up, turn it counterclockwise (orange) and jump to the moving platform.
  5. Stop the rotating propeller with Stasis and move to the terminal.

Connect The iron bars To Rotate The Gears

Take out the iron bars and connect them together. It is easier to connect from the door side but either direction works.

Wind Direction Changes Depending On The Rotation Direction

Inside the Wind Room the wind direction changes with rotation. Climb to the top foothold then turn clockwise to jump toward the entrance. Reverse rotation as needed.

The Moving Foothold Can Be Stopped With Stasis

If the moving foothold is difficult to use, apply Stasis to stop it temporarily and make the jump easier.

Treasure Chest Locations

Known treasure chest contents and locations below.

  1. Gerudo Scimitar
  2. Cobble Crusher
  3. Gerudo Shield
  4. Zora Spear
  5. Bomb Arrow x5
  6. Diamond

Locations

  1. Revolving door in the Thunder Room - there is a chest behind the door; reach it while rotating clockwise.
  2. Above the terminal in the Fire Room - paraglide from a high ledge near the revolving door.
  3. Inside the rotating gear above the entrance - use Stasis timing to enter the small holes.
  4. Under the water spout in the Water Room - stop the spout and dive down to reach the chest.
  5. Iron treasure chest in front of the Wind Room door - use Magnesis to pull it free.
  6. Upper part of the Wind Room door - reach via counterclockwise rotation and gear traversal.
  7. Behind the giant propeller in the Wind Room - stop it with Stasis or access directly if safe; watch for Guardians.

How To Get To The Boss Room

Insert the iron in front of the door after activating the four terminals. Once all four terminals are activated the final door unlocks. Push the octagonal iron forward and insert it to open the door. The boss, Monk Maz Koshia, awaits inside. Prepare healing items, Ancient Arrows, and strong weapons.
